Whether you are going away or staying home for the holidays organising house painting can be done quickly over the holidays. If it’s DIY then time up your sleeve to get stuck into it.
Christmas is the best time for people that love to decorate their homes. It’s time to spice up your decor and really go all out. If you really want to take it a step further than just the perfect tree then maybe painting your living room to bring the festive season to life will be up your alley.
What Paint Colour?
Getting the right paint colours will be the key. Do you want a warm and cosy feel or a festive extravaganza? The right pop of paint can make your tree and Christmas decorations look amazing. And it doesn’t have to be the whole room, maybe it’s a feature wall behind the tree. If you opt for a soft paint colour then go for creams and off-white – think of the colour of eggnog!
And of course, you could go for a traditional Christmas deep red colour, making the green of your tree really pop. Other Christmassy colours that will still look good once the tinsel is packed away are silver greys, taupes and creamy beiges. And just like a bold red look great over Christmas on a feature wall so does a bold green. Plus greens are very in vogue for 2023 so the look will really last all year. The paint can continue to make your home look beautiful even after the holiday season has ended as long as you choose the right hues.
Designer Tips
Place your tree either opposite the accent wall or directly or in front of it. Opposite means, you are balancing out the colour splashes, so if you have gone for a red then put the tree opposite. And on the accent wall have a table with decorations including gold and silver.
Christmas Lighting
If your living room has crown mouldings put white lights around the window mouldings to create a warm glow. If you have painted a soft colour like eggnog go for the coloured lights to add a great spark.
Low-Odour Painting Products
